Drew Estate Cigar Event featuring Undercrown, Tabac Especial and Joya de Nicaragua, as well as the ACID line. Join us with our rep, Zev Kaminetsky.

Cost is $10 for food, a cigar and raffle ticket.

Thursday, May 17 5-9.

Register Now!

The Drew Estate story is one of daring, heartbreak & success but, most of all, one of passion for cigars and the country of Nicaragua, where we have been making cigars since 1998.

Jonathan Drew & Marvin Samel are not your average cigar makers, their story does not start in Cuba, or with fathers in the cigar business. It started with a dream, and through their can-do spirit and never-say-die attitude made Drew Estate one of the premier cigar manufacturers on the planet. The two frat brothers from New York started out small – SMALL as in a 16 square foot retail kiosk in the World Trade Center in NYC.

In late 1998, Jonathan Drew moved to Esteli, Nicaragua with the hopes of starting a rebirth in the cigar world. With a handful of rollers and an even smaller handful of money, the story of “That Crazy Gringo” began. Imagine, going from a NYC apartment to sleeping on a mattress above a ram shackle factory, hardly knowing a word of Spanish.

Contrary to popular belief, ACID was not Drew Estate’s first cigar brand. La Vieja Habana was. Originally released in 1998, when hurricane Mitch ravaged Nicaragua, the brand was put on hold. In 2001, La Vieja Habana returned loud and proud in stylish Art Deco form, a mix of tropical Cuban and NYC deco. By 2002, Drew Estates in Esteli was cranking out some amazing cigars, and a whole lot of them too.

2004 brought us to a crossroads. Drew Estates packed up shop and left the cozy confines of NYC for the fun and sun of Miami. On the horizon, dreams were about to come true. Jonathan’s full vision of La Gran Fabrica Drew Estate. The dream that began nearly 10 years ago becomes reality with the building of our new factory.

One of the most, impressive cigar factories in all Central America. Our old factory in Esteli was home to us for nearly a decade, it’s amazing to think of the many millions of cigars that we were able to produce there. Cigars are so much more than the factory they are made in, it is the people who make them that relay make it special.

Undercrown: Liga Undercrown cigars are a “liga privada” created by Drew Estate’s torcedors for their own personal enjoyment. Their unique Mexican Otapan Negro Último Corte wrapper harvest is delayed by over 4 weeks, resulting in a higher natural sugar content and a richer, creamier flavor. Add the Brazilian Mata Fina and Nicaraguan longfillers, T52 Connecticut stalk cut & cured Habano binder, and you’ve got a smoke that’s lush, smooth, sweet and so marvelously complex, you’ll want more.

Joya de Nicaragua: The Jewel of Nicaragua . . . In the 1970s, this brand was considered the finest not only in Nicaragua, but in the entire world. It was actually created in Nicaragua’s first cigar factory founded in 1964, smoked by US Presidents and renowned for its rich and full flavor. But decades of war and Communist rule in Nicaragua destroyed the brand and decimated the factory – and most of the rest of the country for that matter. Well, the country has been on the rise again, and fittingly, so is the brand. This new Joya de Nicaragua Antaño 1970 was created to celebrate the rich heritage and worldwide renown it enjoyed in 1970, and marks a return to those glorious days. It’s well on the way, earning a terrific 91 rating (Cigar Insider). A very, very full-bodied, robust “muscle cigar.” This beauty is simply delicious.

Tabak Especial: Few combinations feel more natural than tobacco and coffee. Drew Estate introduced the combination when concocting the Tabak Especial infused cigar. Tabak Especial is the Nicaraguan experience at its finest: a superior blend of premium Nicaraguan fillers infused with the essences of rich Nicaraguan fair-trade coffee.

The Menu: In honor of Drew Estates NYC heritage, we will be featuring New York street food: Bavarian Pretzels with Cheddar Cheese and Spicy Mustard Sauces; Coney Island Hot Dog Station with Dogs, Brats and Corn Dogs; Marinated Char-Grilled Lamb Gyros with Tziki sauce; Wok-seared Chicken & Steak Stir Fry; Mini Pork Egg Rolls & Mexican Churros.
